Located in West-Africa, inside the Senegal,

the Gambia is a small country mesuring 400 x 90 km,

with a stable political situation.

There live 1,5 million inhabitants,

25% of whom live around Banjul, its capital.

The medical resources are very rare

and the majority of Gambians cannot afford the basic care.

Infections, avoidable by simple methods of prevention

(education, hygiene, nutrition), are the most common diseases.
